It was cruel irony that with a name like PROMetheus, the poor Titan could not get a date to his high school prom. He had to make one. However, Olympian officials (hypocrites!) were scandalized at his choice of a same-sex partner, and a human being, to boot! Prometheus, in addition, later chose to streak the class graduation holding a torch of forbidden fire.
Is it any wonder that school officials gave him a time-out bound to a rock, with a vulture endlessly eating his liver? Harsh as it seemed, the other Titans needed to be shown an example of what punishment such insolence would entail.
Little Dmitri Jr. (not pictured), appreciated his dad’s statue he made of him, but didn’t understand why his dad had to present it to him in the nude…..in front of all his school friends..

Again, a larger strip image is shown by merely clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s THROWBACK THURSDAY: MASTERPIECE #1730 (6/15/17) (February 22, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment. I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 7 works by this artist have been used here (9 times total, including this and another Throwback Thursday repeat), the June 15, 2017, strip being its first use. The March 21, 2022, strip has the prior non-repeat by this artist.
P.S. Call me Ishmael has left a blog comment as well (not sure if that is his future plan, to do blog comments for strips).

/// Here Prometheus Molds Man from Clay.
Not Titanic; a smaller display.
If they stood toe-to-toe,
where the Man’s face would go
could be thought of as rather risqué.

The toy maker later moved the location for the wind-up key further north, as this location got the toys a bit too wound up.
