I almost did that last year. Well, not really, but our store kept getting so much cat litter sent to us that we reduced the price. I think it was regularly around $4.58 and we took it down to $1.50 for a 25 pound bag!. It was the Special Kitty clay litter. I can’t afford the jugs of clumping litter with as many cats as I have. We’d put full pallets of it out on the salesfloor. And I was buying a few bags every day that I worked. I had a really big stockpile of it on my back porch. And with sales being up, Home Office was sending us more and more and I kept buying more and more. I don’t remember how many bags I had stocked up before the price went back up, but I do have that information written down someplace. Anyway, I believe it lasted me about 10 months before I ran out. Now the price has shot up to more than $5 a bag. But it sure was nice going all those months not needing to buy kitty litter!
NATIONAL READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY. Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The annual event is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. Since the event is designed to encourage reading in children and is fostered through the schools, when March 2nd lands on a weekend, the day is observed on the closest school day..
WORLD TEEN MENTAL WELLNESS DAY
NATIONAL OLD STUFF DAY. Always observed on March 2nd, National Old Stuff Day gives notice to all that old stuff and encourages you to try something new. Well, maybe not ALL the old stuff, but some of it. It’s a day to break out of the old routines and experience new ones. (as for me, I’m just fine sticking with my old stuff and old routines)
NATIONAL HOSPITALIST DAY
NATIONAL BANANA CREAM PIE DAY. I’m not a fan of banana cream pie. I much prefer chocolate cream pie. Or lemon meraingue pie (however that’s spelled). Or key lime pie. Or triple berry pie (strawberry/raspberry/blackberry).
Sorry, I’m not a big Tom Cruise fan. I make sure my two always have a full food dish. They are grazers, not gobblers, so I don’t worry about them.
Was on a guy’s father-in-law’s farm near Sacramento one time and there were a mix of cats and dogs. By the outside of a shed was food and water bowls. I saw a cat walk up, take a bite or two and leave. It was dry food but nonetheless no one came by and “cleaned up”.
How can Annie afford to buy all the cat supplies? Those cats (except Woof and Lil Ollie) are so demanding and ungrateful. The comments about her cooking (I confess to have laughed) would give her reason to walk away. Of course, her halo continues shining bright. Sweet little child. (((heart)))
Annie’s probably going to need a forklift to haul all that kitty litter. Either that or a tractor trailer. Wish the kitties would appreciate all that she does for them. (Well, Oliver does, at least.) On another note, saw two chickadees, two golden crowned kinglets, three varied thrushes, and a junco while out walking today.
