It takes so much time to learn to be You, and then so much time to learn to be with another person (which is why there should be a rule no marriage before age 27). Adding on a brand-new human early in a marriage seems insane, especially given the psychology of the stages of relationships (i.e. waiting past the ‘first flush’ of the first 2-3 years). The lending out sounds like a great idea…. And given her fulltime job, Marcus would be the one to do most of the borrowed childcare! That might change his mind…
This arc is making me angry. Why in h3ll didn’t they talk about this – and agree about this – a long time ago? Marcus putting this kind of pressure on Nicole for something this big is downright abusive.
No marriage before 27? That will allow far too many sluggards to be parasites until age 26 on their parents’ medical insurance and never grow backbone at all.
