Tom’s recovery has had its ups and downs!

He suffers from Otisitis.

This addiction will be hard to break. Each trip “Up” in an elevator is like a religious experience to some, a pre-taste of The Rapture. But Heaven can also be achieved through ascending a step-by-step stairway, as Gershwin wrote in his song, “I’ll Build a Stairway to Paradise.”

His condition has been escalating.

I’m addicted to 12 step programs, I am up to 48 steps now.

This would be a problem for some who are afraid of the steps involved in a cure!

You know, since the goal is actually “humility,” the 12 Steps are often considered to go down, not up.

I have a fear of elevators. I’ve been taking steps to avoid them

Why cats will never join a 12-step program:

My knees are leading me to find that particular addiction very tempting.

kinda annoyed that Scott made them all obese. Not everyone who uses an elevator is heavy.

Good news – going down the stairs is much easier; especially if you don’t mind tumbling or sliding.

That’s right! He likes to get “high”!

Very funny, except for those (like me) that cannot negotiate stairs…

Darn thing better be an escalator or I’m out of here.
