This is one of the only bipartisan issues that either parties won’t do anything to put an end to! Wish I could be sent to a comfortable retirement even if I was a failure!

Let’s thank a system that enabled the dark money campaign contributions which the Roberts court has turbo charged. Neither side can get elected without the Mega Bucks or buying a SCOTUS Clarabelle clown.

Can’t the government just provide everyone with a golden parachute or pillow?

There is nothing wrong with giving a solid CEO a golden parachute if it convinces him or her to take over a troubled company and try to turn it around. The issue is when a troubled CEO takes over a solid company and turns it around.

Hell last I heard the government is still in courts trying to recover money from the first bail out; the rich had to fill out one page of paperwork to get millions, while a single mother is required to fill out 35+ pages yearly to receive assistance; talk about the disparity here?

Danae seems to think a pillow is more practical to hold money than a parachute, which might be true for the every-day bank thief. She also doesn’t yet realize a parachute is designed to land in a place where many bags of money have been stashed.

OK, here’s the story. In the 1930’s 9000 banks were allowed to collapse. All the money of all the depositors was lost. I had a great uncle that buried his money in a coffee can because of that. It was called The Great Depression and all the stuff the GQP is against to this day started in 1933 with FDR’s New Deal. NO sitting president of the United States is going to let another disaster like that happen if it can be stopped. Not one, not one of either party and the legislature will back that president even if they do whine and moan about it in public. Bank bailouts are a fact of life because the alternative is worse.

United States Senator William Proxmire, Democrat from Wisconsin, began to issue the Golden Fleece Award in 1975 in monthly press releases. In 1988, The Washington Post referred to the award as “the most successful public relations device in politics today”. He once told me the scariest thing in politics is the truth; I miss our chats!

Been through one ourselves. The bank CEO/president took off in his massive golden parachute while we all lost our jobs. First time in my life that I did not have a job since I was 15 for almost two years. Lost my house in the process too. Still mad every time I see the bank buildings.

The 1% are stupid in one area. They all trust someone to manage their assets. Maybe 1,000 or so world wide. If they would, these 1,000 could distribute their wealth to the rest of us. It will never happen, but it is possible
