And Puck will not compete. Someone has to commentate.

AT LONG LAST THE 2AM FORMERLY BIWEEKLY RUNNING IF THE CATS HAS RETURNED!

My Gracie does a sort of a celebratory run through the house. Similar to ordinary zoomies, but she does it after she gets a special treat or anything she really enjoys. Tuna usually causes an enthusiastic response.

We called it, Orb! The running down the new halls at 0200. It wasn’t hard to guess, frankly. I like how Iggy is wearing track shorts and Ora is wearing goggles like Lupin. Elvis and Sophie are stretching before thundering up and down the halls. Puck can run, just not as fast. I figure this because Tater the vet cat on The Incredible Dr. Pol can run, and he’s missing a leg.

Ours were more like 3AM. Usually ending with yowling and spitting…

Stretching followed by butt wiggles as the contestants get into the starting blocks …

Tommy’s people may soon regret moving in below an apartment with 6 resident cats.

I wonder if the other apartments also have that strangely placed hallway.

Moose and Blackjack had their hallway race early last night. It was only 11:30 PM. It’s a T shape with runners and we always know when they’ve been at it because the runners are moved.

I’m on ESCN. Every-Sport-Cat-Network, and I can’t seem to find it?

Goldie’s fuzzy tabby belly is showing in her crop top! Iggy, ever the follower, watches to copy her stretches.

Queen Mags: Thank you for the lovely gifts of scrap metal and gold and jewels. Iron Glove is looking forward to getting together with you, Iggy, to work on some projects.

Iggy: Thank you, Your Majesty. I can’t wait.

Queen Mags: And Arachna and Adobe style have some climbing curtains for you to test out, Ora Z.

Ora Z: Can I claw and shred them?

Queen Mags: I think they want you to do your worst! And now, Puckmosis and Elvis-Anum, you and the Procurers want to visit the library, correct?

Puckmosis: Yes, Your Majesty. We are conducting some research we think Beaver Lee Cleary can help us with.

I used to live in a lovely house with an open stairway and the cats would have a ball running up and down them. Good exercise for them too. I miss that old place.

Oh yeah, we all saw this coming! Love Lupin’s running goggles and Goldie’s workout gear. And Pucky’s worried little eyebrow! It’s OK, Pucky! They’re not going to take the hallway away from you, and you can run at your own pace.

I’m so glad my two sleep through the night. Raven yells for a while after I go to bed, but once he finds where I’ve gone he’s OK.

Run, run, run, run away!

We KNEW a new hallway called for a “running of the cats.!” The thundering herd prepares.

Yes! I said I wanted this, and Georgia will deliver!! How will there be enough lamps for all of them, though?

Sure, some People might complain about cats making a ruckus at 2AM. But if People just napped sixteen hours a day like sensible creatures do, it wouldn’t be so much of a problem!

Okay, place your bets! If it’s a sprint, my money’s on Ora Zella, followed by the Manic Powderpuff Lupin.

OT: hoMEOWner

Nephew is signing the papers for his new house RIGHT MEOW! He has movers lined up for Saturday to get his stuff out of storage & haul it over to the new place. YAY!

For once, something good happening on Monday! Congrats to Nephew!

I wonder why Puck looks kind of uncertain about this.

It’s so nice that Iggy and OZ found a home with such good adult cat role models (maybe or maybe not including Lupin) ;)

OT: my family, knowing my enthusiasm for tropical shirts, asked me for ideas for my birthday. It would be great to wear a Tommy shirt, but I haven’t located anything that is quite right. Does anybody here have one?

My Fuzzball only ever got 2am zoomies when he’d manage to catch a mouse or shrew from the garage and wanted to get it to us in the upstairs bedroom before it either expired or escaped… He loved watching US get the zoomies trying to catch his “present”.

This is gonna be one heck of a race! (Rushes in the kitchen to get snacks.)

OZ and Iggy need to participate in the Running of the Cats.

I hope the cat race doesn’t spook the human kids with so much newness in their young lives.
