Well, this conversation is helping.

I once almost missed my plane because the cab got stuck and we had to get out and push. The cab driver didn’t get tipped for that one.

A friend and his family were touring Paris. On the departure day, they set out for the airport in plenty of time. Then, dead on noon, the subway and all other public transport stopped. The drivers step out and walked away, as did all the passengers. Friend was shocked, until someone told him about the national strike.

How to get to the airport? Luckily, older son was able to get an Uber and they made the airport just barely in time and wife, kids boarded. Which would have been ok but security decided he needed a second security scan. Finally, he ran like Jim Thorpe and made it, just as the plane doors were being secured. So, the whole family made it home. What a memory to finish off the trip.

He got nervous just telling the tale, which made me nervous, too . . . he’s my dentist. : )

I presume that the cop stopped him because he was going too slow on the interstate.

Well he’ll miss it for sure now

Go slow young (???) man.

Forget about going West.

The cabbie thought it was the fare thing to do.

He’s not only a nervous flyer, he’s a dope — could have stayed home, missed the plane himself, and kept the $10.
