If you think about it, though, most of the bad news on the news does NOT affect you (or most people), and some will only have an affect sometime later, and some that has a great effect on a national level might not personally affect any given person (like “you”) very much… and when you consider that feeling bad isn’t going to make any difference, feeling bad in sympathy won’t make victims and others feel better, and won’t motivate you to do something that might help, it’s better to NOT LET IT affect you emotionally, but logically consider what you might do to help yourself and others, and happily set about to do it, even if it’s just saving one little starfish…
