In one strip of the Argentine comic Gaturro, Gaturrín — adoptive toddler nephew of the titular character — really gnawed the bulb thing of his pacifier, but that was because he was in a bad mood (probably because he really gnawed the bulb thing on his pacifier).

Surprised Wanda’s grip was stronger than Wren’s today.

Neither of my girls ever liked pacifiers. When my older daughter was not quite 2 she saw a baby with one. She found one at home (we were given dozens of them), put it in her mouth, sucked on it a couple times, pulled it out, looked at it, repeated, then took it out & put it down. My younger one was fine with her thumb, which she stopped by herself before she was 3.

And Wren has teeth to really clamp down. Youngest daughter was a pacifier hanger on. Went to pull it out of her mouth one day and it pulled apart. Said that’s it, it’s broke, non-repairable. That was the end of the pacifier stage.

Getting off the Passie is almost as traumatic as giving up one’s woobie! (blanket, toy, pillow. etc).

To all you parents out there I have a question, I never was able to get pregnant so I never had the joy of having a baby- around what age is it time to take the binkie away from your child? Our newspaper had pictures of kids fishing on the first day of trout season on April 1st and they had a picture of a little girl and the caption with the picture said she was 4 years old and yet she was sucking on a binkie and I thought that is too old to still be using one. Is there a certian age time frame or just when they are comfortable to give it up, hopefully before they start kindergarten at age 5.

Haha! XD I think she’s a little too old for a pacifier anyways.
