I’m a librarian, and quite frankly, it’s not the readers who drive me to drink – it’s the computer users. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been yelled at ‘cause I don’t know someone else’s password . . .
Any decent librarian could guide him to a book that includes that subject in just a few seconds. Try Mother Earth News. The last time I checked you could buy 50 years of back issues on a DVD for a few bucks.
My library integrated the Dewy Decimal System into the digital library, and it works perfectly. I was under the impression this was done everywhere because it also works when I have to request an inter-library loan. Is this not universal?
Butter churning is also a survival skill that should be included in everyone’s disaster preparedness plans. If you don’t have one for your family just look to Ukraine for inspiration. It was once a beautiful modern country too. Also, Lebanon was once the modern jewel of the Middle East. Disasters of every kind can take us sideways when we least expect it. Just don’t let the prospect take you down Nut-Job Lane like too many of the preppers have done.
Now see, Librarian, you wouldn’t have to resort to drinking if you could have just directed him to section 637.3. (Former high school library aide here…)
I have no doubt there are foodie librarians who make their own butter and other dairy products and it is not going to make anyone reasonable even blink hard.

Aren’t paper books being replaced in the modern age?

If paper books are so great, why do they deteriorate?

I’ve churned butter, there’s not that much involved to fill a book.

Like you need an excuse to drink.

Eno is the reason many people drink, regardless of occupation or profession or age or gender or species.
