That’s how you know it’s not current country music then.

My late father would make fun of country music like that – but he actually loved it and introduced me to it.

    I hate C/W music.

If my my laptop was to play music, it would be the works of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers, or the Gershwins.

In other words, the music of those great Broadway authors from the past.

Grew up around country music. Hated it back then and don’t care for now.

Hated country music until the 90s

My radio is tuned to a country station these days, but it doesn’t sound like the stuff I grew up with

An oldies country station wouldn’t last long with me

Livingston Taylor wrote a country music song about hating country music:

Howdy from northeast Tennessee! Where country music was invented, and NASCAR perfected. (Look up the Bristol Sessions and Bristol Motor Speedway on Wikipedia.)

Play it backwards and you’ll get your truck back, your dog back, your girlfriend back….

There are a few C&W artists I like, but overall, I can live without it.

Not to worry little girl. There is lots of music out there. You don’t have to like all of it.

I like some country music, but it’s not something I’d listen to every day.

You know how you get a happy country song? Play it in reverse – he gets his farm back, his wife returns and his dog is alive again.

It’s a matter of taste, but at least it’s real music, unlike some of the noise foisted on the public these days

I’ve always gone out of my way to spread the meme that country music will damage your speakers. :)

You should introduce her to both kinds of music, Adam—country and western.

I love country music…but not “pop country”. I love all the country from the 60’s and 70’s, some from the 80’s and 90’s…Loved watching Hee Haw and all the stars they had on to sing. I love so many artists, too many to name. Love Bluegrass too!
