Can’t be Lily, her owners evil new wife dumped her out on the street. Maybe This Side Up. The box he was found in could have been from his owner and had something valuable. Like a gazillion inch TV.
NATIONAL SCRABBLE DAY. I love words – reading and writing them. And I love word games like crossword puzzles (just so long as they’re not too difficult!). But I’ve never cared much for playing Scrabble. Go figure!
NATIONAL THOMAS JEFFERSON DAY
NATIONAL BORINQUENEERS DAY
NATIONAL MAKE LUNCH COUNT DAY
NATIONAL PEACH COBBLER DAY. I have some canned peaches. Can you make peach cobbler with canned peaches? I thought that when I was a kid that canned peaches tasted like peaches. Why don’t they taste like peaches now?
Also from yesterday – yesterday was Be Kind To Lawyers Day. I meant to add that before anyone said anything bad about lawyers, my dad was a lawyer. But you all would have liked him. His office was in the house, so he had low overhead (after all, he had to heat those rooms anyway, right? No rent to pay for an office, he was always around, so if my mom needed to do things, they never needed a babysitter for us). So his rates were very low. Even his clients said he didn’t charge as much as he was worth. I’d hear him talking to clients in the office sometimes as he did their taxes or their wills or whatever. It wasn’t all business. It was things like, “How are your kids?”, etc. But that was okay because he didn’t charge by the hour. When he was done making out the will or taxes, he named a nominal fee that often shocked clients – in a good way. They thought he was undercharging. He was also a notary public. Many of them charge for notarizing papers. My dad thought that was silly. He didn’t charge anything for doing that. My dad was a very rare example of a very good lawyer. Fair and honest.
But, my brother, Jim, on the other hand, he became a lawyer, the dirty dealing, swindler that all of you lawyer haters are familiar with. After our dad died, a LOT of his clients left to see other lawyers. Jim charged too much and he wasn’t honest like my dad was. Unlike my dad, who was in it to help people, Jim was in it solely for the money. As dishonest as our dad was honest. So, there are some good lawyers (surely my dad could not have been the only one), but plenty more bad ones like Jim.
Sorry, Chesney, but Lily doesn’t seem impressed by your bootlicking. Good try, though. If not Lily, then who? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon. On another note, saw four robins and four chickadees while out walking today.

Is this a repeat? Didn’t Lily leave to go live with someone else once? Is that what this is all about?

From yesterday’s comments:
More_Cats_Than_Sense said, "Dummy Crump = Crummy Dump. It’s a “Spoonerism” where the first letters of words are mixed up. Named after the Reverend Spooner"
We like to do that in my family. For example, I don’t blow my nose. I “No my blose” We had some others, but I can’t think of them now.

Someone grab Chesney and cover his mouth so Annie can tell us what’s in the letter. The suspense is killing us.
