I don’t like oatmeal. I do, however, like uncooked oats with sugar and cream.

She’s thinking, if you’re eating oatmeal why do you want to be here another year.

“Yeah, I know, you’re all old. Separate checks?”

The fly in the oatmeals is that means that they have to keep eating there.

But do we want them around another year?

Um, what? Each of them eating three bowls of oatmeal makes them healthy????

My Mom’s dad, my grandfather start every morning with a shot brandy. He lived til he was 94. This was back in the 1980’s.

The waitress is looking sad in the last panel because she realized that they’ve just ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner (each a bowl of oatmeal), and that means they’re going to be hanging around the restaurant all day.

That’s some pretty thin gruel there.

I’m talking about the writing. Dale Evans’s oatmeal can be used to patch holes in a battleship.
