    Good morning™, everyone!

At least B.O. has some idea what a phishing scheme is, so he’s off to see “Mr. Macy” with Chick Tracy II under his arm. Chick Tracy earns her keep in more than one way, even if Gertie does call the hen a “loudmouth.”

What can Tracy do about it? The phishy phone calls, tell B.O. to invest in an unlisted number? Get on a “do not call” list?

It is very uncommon for a chicken to lay more than 1 egg a day.

I don’t get it why people complain about the storylines instead of just getting into the thing. I think people expect that every storyline must be an Eisner style. No. It doesn’t need to. It’s just a story.

I tend to complain if it drags on for a long period (like the current Phantom storyline is being dragged) when it could be fastened. But I also get that it is not a valid complain, because, again, I am NOT the WRITER of it. So I can’t make any decisions. I just have to get over it. So what I did was wait for it to unfold a little longer and then I’ll get to read it. And that’s it.

There are multiple daily drama/action strips available to read. From a medical strip all the way to a medieval (Sunday only) strip. Just change the things, take a time off and then get back to check it and read it.

(Phew. I had to let this one go after reading a comment here.)

BO knows more than he thinks he does. The practice of using a message to gain personal information is in own as “phishing”

No Sprocket today either. The one character I was excited about and looking forward to seeing more of and I get totally ripped off. A crazy barefoot chick hiding dark personal secrets from her hippy Birkenstock shod boyfriend who is as naive as it gets and is about to be psychologically traumatized by aforementioned crazy barefoot chick with a brother in prison . Sprocket and Silver have both had run ins with Dick Tracy and some Mumble Jumble character is waiting in the wings to make things interesting and I have to slog through chicken jokes . Who did I pizz off ?

OK, B.O. is more aware of things in this instance than Gertie, and, thinks that the call she got is a scam. But did he actually say “phishy,” or, is that all MIke?

I believe in guys with Flat heads,Prune faces, and secret compartments in their necks.

But I draw the line at chickens laying two eggs at once.

Anybody remember one of the last Gould stories about a rash of obscene phone calls?Gravel Gertie got one and she said she couldn’t meet the guy because she had a cake in the oven.

You may remember that as the one where Vera Alldid was arrested for murdering an obscene caller(he found a gunat the murder scene and picked it up with his bare hands(?!?!). Sadly,he was cleared.

What’s better than laying one egg? Laying two.

I’m wondering if we’re going to just lay eggs or hatch a plot. I hope B.O. gets one going tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath.

From the comments on this strip, I must definitely be in the minority, but I am delighted to see this couple again. BO and Gertie were regulars on the strip until Dick Loecher retired. Then they rarely appeared and then briefly. I hope their stay will be longer this time.

Good for B. O. Plenty — he’s suspicious of the call, and maybe rightly so. He’ll get “Macy” on the case tout de suite!

    For serious consideration:

It was not uncommon for Chester Gould to go off on a tangent in the middle of a story. (For example: The Plenty family’s bathroom upgrade, as described in my comment yesterday.) But still his stories seemed to flow, and I don’t recall ever thinking “Oh brother, now what?! Can’t he stay focused?” (To be fair, I first read the bathroom sub-plot in a reprint comic book, so I was not waiting days for the conclusion.)

What is it about Mike’s writing that seems so disjointed and haphazard?

I guess with Gould, we knew from experience that the action, detective work and police procedure elements of his stories were coming and that they would be worth the wait.

ZANILY A.I. FAIL OT: So, today I decided to try for Tracy framed in an alleyway, with a hulking T-Rex looming over him. Done in the style of Frank Frazetta. Yeah, well, I didn’t get much sleep last night.

The result was mind blowing odd and my require months of costly therapy to expunge from my tiny mind.

THIS is the new tech that’s gong to take over the world?!

Chick Tracy II stars, yet lays en egg—in fact, two eggs! Still, she seems to be the brains of this operation, certainly outshining dull-witted Gravel Gertie. B.O. seems a bit more aware, but it’s not easy to say if the “phishy” pun is his or Mike’s, since it depends on visual recognition.

We may hope that Mr. Macy will understand the attempted scam and even take some investigatory action.

In general, I think it fair to say today’s episode has been a comedic interlude. Slog on, stalwarts!
