Other versions has strip coloration image.
Again, a larger strip image is shown by merely clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s THROWBACK THURSDAY: MASTERPIECE #1224 (6/1/15) (May 31, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment. I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 4 works by this artist have been used here (6 times total, including a repeat, and now this Throwback Thursday), the June 1, 2015, strip being its first use. GoComics has deactivated the hyperlinks and removed the new lines in my comment and reply there; but, perhaps the text remains informative. The April 7, 2023, strip has the prior by him.
This is another of several Masterpieces for which all of my original Comments (and Replies to others) were deleted by GoComics and not later restored. Nearly a year later I’ve decided to do my best to recreate at least one response for each of those paintings:

I don’t think Lars is going to be able to satisfy Ingeborg’s nautical fantasy with his little dinghy.

Likely Lake Siljan – Zorn lived in Mora which is on its northwestern corner. On the eastern bank is Nusnas, home of Sweden’s iconic red wooden horses.

If you think this is troublesome check out photographs of Victorian women mountain climbing in dresses. A lady did not wear pants. Period.

/// She had come for some Summer Fun, rowing,
but was not sure now how she’d be going.
If she jumped for the boat
and missed, she’d never float.
If she hit it, her ankle’d be showing.
/// He complained she’s a bit overdressed,
By those words she appeared to be stressed.
She said, "I’ve been in boats
wearing more petticoats,
while for this one I’d need a life vest.
/// “Your timing was poor;” the girl cried,
“We should never have met at low tide.”
Replied he, “Never fear!”
and tied up to the pier
where he clambered straight up to her side.
/// There they waited as waters rose higher.
In a flask he had whiskey to ply her.
Before long they’d begun
to have sweet Summer Fun,
rocking not from the waves, but desire.
