Earl if you think, Opal is gonna let you get away with that think again.

Spouse just stops working in the kitchen if the appliances aren’t working and I’m not moving to make it better. When our garbage disposal failed catastrophically a few months ago, I had a new one in place by the end of day the next day (Hey: the big box builders store was already closed when she turned it on and it just groaned). On the other hand, when the fridge became a food-warmer, she insisted on helping choose the replacement. THAT took more than a week, all told, but it was a treat to watch those guys carry the new one in using nothing more technical than a big loop of nylon strap. Including steps and a very tight turn. They took the other one out the same way.

That’s okay, your plumber will thank-you for it.

On the priority list garbage disposal is pretty high. It’s not like cleaning out under the work bench in the garage (which you can put off for years).

Actually putting things off is my best move. Except for stuff that leaks or smokes or makes loud noises as it crashes.

In Earl’s case, A.S.A.P. stands for American Society of Aged Procrastinators.

Last time I had a garbage disposal problem, it had tried to eat a small screw. Definitely not part of the disposal and it was jammed tight. Even the hammer and big screwdriver didn’t dislodge it.

No urgency when it comes to Earl…

A.S.A.P. means “AS SOON AS POSSIBLE”. What if Earl said “R.S.V.P.” which might have meant “REVISED STANDARD VERSION, PLEASE”?

How about you remove it and throw it on the pile of bad appliances? Opal can just scrape the plates into the garbage.

Opal – go take a look at it. If Earl can “reset” it there will be a button, maybe a red one. Push it.

For Heaven’s sake, just tell her where the red button is.

Better yet, show her how, but she should remove the lost fork first.

You know Earl, that it only takes a minute or two, to go press the reset and get Opal off your back …………….. of course it could be something more involved ……………… Your right, no need to rush …… :)

Think twice Earl, you are going to have a lot more garbage to carry out as long as the disposal doesn’t work.

Our garbage disposal went out not to long ago. I went up and got one. Installed it that afternoon. Easy peasy!
