    That’s going to confuse most.

Possibly a poorly drawn coffee thermos but seems more like a pneumatic deposit bottle. Weirdly niche and will be unknown to most who have never seen the antiquated system that few banks use.

    Gee, Nancy.

If you don’t trust Frank, why didn’t YOU stop at the bank on your way home from the Fuse.

Or better yet, get Bernice to do it?

After all, she needs to “work off” some of that FREE room and board.

I once worked in an Air Force hospital that used a system of 44 pneumatic tubes to send stuff all over 4 or 5 different floors.

I had to read the comments to understand what that thing was. I have no idea if those tubes have ever been used in Italy in the past, but I’m pretty sure no bank is using them today or in the last 20 years. Once you figure out what it is, the joke is pretty funny. Poor forgetful Frank!

Looks like the pneumatic tube s we had at the hospital where I worked in Medical Records for 20 years. We used the tubes to send patient charts to tge ED or different patient care units.

I think most banks/credit unions are switching to what they call ITMs—Interactive Teller Machines—that allow you to talk to a teller. I know that the Hudson River Community Credit Union in Corinth NY has made the switch. You can read more about it here: https://www.hrccu.org/itm/

I am ashamed to admit how often I drove off with the carrier. But only at one particular branch of my bank. Never did it at any of the other locations. I always apologized profusely, but the tellers always told me I was not the only one, and then they thanked me for returning it so promptly.

It’s like walking away with the company pen and realizing when you’re home. In the 80’s I remember making the company’s bank deposit at a drop slot using the bag the bank provided.

My dog is a therapy dog in a hospital. She has about 6 years’ experience now, but in her first week one of those pneumatic tubes landed right over her head. They are very loud. To this day, she is a bit leery of them. The dog we go with had a much different experience. Someone sent a dog treat in one, so she hopes for that to happen again. As far as banking, I go inside if I need to. I can deposit checks using the bank app on my phone, but if I need cash I will go in. Because I can. Also, I don’t trust ATMs anymore as they can be messed with.

Drive up teller? Makes me think of pulling into a bank parking lot where a fully equipped golf cart comes out to meet you, handle your transaction, gives you a cup of coffee for the road, and says have a nice day.

I once dropped the tube under my car, so I pulled forward and ended up running over the thing. I took it into the bank and apologized. They just pulled out another one and sent it out.

The embarrassing part was that my daughter was one of the tellers. (But it was her day off.)

It’s a US based strip snd pneumatic tubes are all over the US in bank drive throughs. Readers from other countries need to realize that there may be references to things that are specific to the US.
