This is a fine exhibition, display, presentation, show, offering, performance, representation, exposition of his work.

Too abstract for my taste.

Those who overuse the thesaurus may become synonym toast.

The long one doesn’t work for me

Well, I’ve learned more about abstract art than I thought possible, or was told/taught me ever …

Always had a student or two argue when I told them all art is abstract. I’d refer them to a small reproduction of an Ansel Adams photo of Mt. McKinley in the text and and ask if that was abstract. “No, of course not, it’s a photo so, it’s real!” So… Mt. McKinley is only an inch and a half high, and black and white? And nothing moves on it?

‘Realistic’ art tends to abstract enough visual elements viewers don’t realize the art is an abstraction.

Some works of art can be accused of being scams. I once saw a large framed piece in a major NY gallery that was simply a canvas painted all black. I would have happily painted that for 1/10th what the artist earned!

Looks like we are staying away from politics. Smart move.

I thought the thesaurus was extinct along with most of the other ’saurus’s.

Bet he’d hate crossword puzzles with short answers.

Art is 1st and foremost supposed to make you think. You do not have to necessarily like it or even agree or accept it. If you think about the art then the artist has made their point

In the ’70’s, I taught Freshman composition while pursuing a graduate degree and was dismayed by all the “William F. Buckley” copyists who seems to believe that five syllables were always better than two. It took a semester, but I managed to get many of the students to break the habit by circling every unnecessary and/or ambiguous term and insisting that they write out the definition of the term, give an explanation of why it was chosen and provide an appropriate [shorter, more specific] term to use in its place.

But now we have the opposite problem — everything reduced to tiny “smiley” faces.

Here all this time I’ve been settling for merely a saurus, when this guy had access to the saurus!

Someone stole my thesaurus and I don’t have the words to say how mad I am

A grand effort to say nothing.

And so many art (and food, wine and film) critics sound like they’ve swallowed 4 thesauruses and 6 dictionaries.
