How about somewhere in between … where a person can maintain their finances and do it at an easy-paced moderate rate?

Hard to go broke if you have nothing to break.

the saddest part of this truth is that the government could start each baby out with 1 million and have them manage that through their lifetime, with the amount of money given to other countries from OUR taxes. Do the math BEFORE you comment. We destroy our own people through government policies that enrich the dictators, conmen, and reprobate leaders of other countries while letting millions of Americans suffer because of those same government policies meant to make our “leaders” billionaires. PROVE ME WRONG – start in 1800, follow the foreign aid scandals and which companies and people got rich, AND take into account the bedfellows of the top industries/manufacturers of our history and their ties to government policies. Capitalism is better than socialism as socialism cannot sustain itself, but capitalism leads to corruption when dishonest politicians want to have the power to line their pockets with our money through dishonest taxation. And I haven’t even touched on the warmongers who chose to kill their fellow country inhabitants as well as other country’s populations so they could be rich. Or the pharmaceuticals with politicians in their back pockets, who control us through their manufactured medicines. Yes, I get on a rant because until people wake up we will constantly be abused and used by the ones in charge who care absolutely NOTHING about the “common” person except how they can separate them from their money through lies, policies, and social pressure to do what they want them to do. The majority of people are such fools.

Just idle curiosity here. Even tho the lettering in this strip looks as if each character is individually hand-drawn, if you look closely you’ll notice that all the "C"s (for example) are identical. There’s some variation in the "E"s, but those are the exception. I wonder how one goes about getting a custom-designed font, for that’s surely what’s going on here.

About a year after I graduated from college and had settled into my first real job, my mother asked if I was setting aside any money for a rainy day. I assured her “Mom, I’m investing heavily in consumer goods.” She replied “Oh, that’s good, dear.”

And it was a good idea at the time. Over the subsequent decades I’ve had a lot more use out of those frying pans and crescent wrenches than I would ever have had out of a portfolio of stocks in Pan Am, American Motors, Woolworth, Texaco, Compaq, beanie babies, and 8-track tapes.
