I wouldn’t put my money in a bank being guarded by the likes of an Oliver.

    Today is:

National Kissing Day. Does it count if I just kiss my cats?

    World Rainforest Day

    National Hvac Tech Day

    National Onion Rings Day

National Chocolate Eclair Day. I guess it’s a good thing we don’t have a bakery in town or I might just decide I need to go buy some eclairs! Seriously though, we really could use a bakery in town!

From yesterday’s comments to daleandkristen who asked, “Is your Panther progressing a bit? Is she tempted to lick the squeeze treat? It’s gonna happen…….”

Yes! As it happens, yesterday morning as I was going downstairs, I saw Panther in the upstairs hallway. I reached up between the spokes of the banister to try to get her attention. I actually got her to play with my fingers! Just a little. One poke at my fingers. But anything is more than nothing. So I went in the kitchen and got a pouch of that squeeze treat (expensive stuff, but I was willing to give it a shot). Well, she kept ignoring my fingers even after I put the squeeze treat on them. So I put a dab of it on the floor (I’m still only halfway up the stairs here, reaching through banister posts). She moved away, but later, she accidentally gets her front paw in the stuff on the floor. She licked it up and I showed her more on my finger. And she licked it off my fingers. Can it get any better? She LICKED MY FINGERS! Okay, so when I tried to touch her – just tried to touch a paw, she was having none of that. I was having trouble keeping the other cats away so I could give the treat only to Panther. But with Oreo and Beauty and Pebbles all after me, well, they got just a wee taste too. I will keep trying to give Panther the treat whenever I get a chance to. Eventually, I have to win her over.

I think the other cats will need to wake Oliver up in the spring.

Smart plan, Oliver. He may get that bonus, after all. On another note, saw a Wilson’s warbler, two spotted towhees, three butterflies, three robins, a rabbit, a damselfly, and a junco, while out walking today.
