No, this guy has nothing to do with Climate change. He’s there to preempt the shootings in the Gunshine state.

Must be true. That explains the feces in the streets and the gun violence in the bad parts of town (which now is the entire town.)

I remember about 3 years ago it was said we had only 13 years to stop the warning of the atmosphere. I think, unfortunately, that was wrong. Seems we may be at the point of no return.

This is a funny strip today. I especially like the sign by the artist.

Many of the comments remind us that global climate change is just one of many major issues plaguing this planet. It’s a bad one: professional predictions run all the way from a significant rise in water level (pretty much a certainty) to an extinction-level event.

The horrors mankind perpetrates every minute of every day are terrible to think about. Murder, rape, mutilations, or the “lesser” crimes of greed and power abuse making things so expensive that some people even in wealthy countries are starving.

This calls to mind scripture which states that in the last days humankind would “progress from bad to worse”. Another speaks of “those ruining the earth”. (How did John know, 2,000 years ago, that mankind would even have the ability to ruin the Earth?.) Whether one “believes” or not is irrelevant; those scriptures are there in black and white… and ALL of the prophecies are coming true, without exception. 1000 batting average.

The bottom line is stated in another scripture: “It does not belong to man to guide his own step.” We don’t have the far-reaching sight, knowledge, or even ethics to do the right thing. As scripture states, “Unless those days were cut short, no flesh will be saved. But… those days will be cut short.”

It makes sense. If a pile of wood starts going rotten, you save the good boards to build with… and destroy the bad.

Mankind has had sufficient warnings against all the stupidity we perpetrate on a constant basis. It’s just about time for the big stick lesson. Regardless of what people individually think or believe, nothing is going to stop what is about to happen. We can’t change the world; the only thing we can change is ourselves individually, and perhaps help our loved ones in the process. Or people can just go on doing what they’re doing, and see what happens. That’s called “learning the hard way”.

With an average elevation of 12 feet above sea level, Florida is the most vulnerable state to rising sea levels due to climate change.

Ironically, the Republican-controlled state legislature has outlawed the terms “climate change” or “global warming” in official state publications.

Dade county, which is subject to daily flooding, just authorized paving over hundreds of acres of costal wetlands to put in a warehousing complex. Coastal wetlands act as a surge protector for flooding. So the state will have to put in canals, levies and other water processing systems to do what nature does for free.

However, Floridians love to pay taxes, they’d rather be “broke than woke.”

Climate change will get worse before it gets better. Why not just stop denying it and admit it and if you don’t want to pay to mitigate it, then agree to pay increasingly more to live with it.

Many, many years ago, the first responders in the Phoenix area had to start using a chemical to apply to people who, for one reason or another, were laying on the hot pavement to keep their skin from sticking to the ground. I don’t know what it it (was), I just remember reading a news story about it.

Some of Frank Luntz’s focus groups a few decades back revealed that the phrase “global warming” sounded scary to people, but “climate change” wasn’t so much; more like “yeah, yeah, weather tomoro’s gonna be a bit different than today, so what?”. So promptly all the Republicans, plutocrats, and right-wingers adopted the less worrisome wording, and the clueless Dems just went along with the flow.

Well, time to turn the tables. I’m abandoning “climate change” and hereafter going with “climate crisis”. You should, too!

We live in a town where my wife worked for 30 years. When she started the summer highs were in the 85 to 95 range. Now after 7 years of retirement summer highs are more like 95 to 105. I’m sure it’s just the elite messing with the thermometers. /s

Summer is not the good time it used to be. Disastrous storms, massive fires and killing heat have spread and continue to get worse. “The world will survive” say the optimists. “Will we?” ask the cynics.

Weird that weathermen are only 50% right, but every ten years since the 70’s the earth has been destroyed by the climate. I remember freezing during the last ice age in the 80’s, then there was the deforestation caused by acid rain in the 90’s. And here we are in the 20’s with only ten years to go before we all die from climate.
