The trick is to NOT wake all the way up. I manage that most of the time. You wake from a dream of looking for a bathroom and after a brief sojourn … still mostly asleep… you return to the bed and the dream. Which probably morphs into something stranger but who cares: You’re asleep!
After over 40 years of being at work by 6 am or earlier I’ve retired and now get up between 7 and 8. I enjoy sitting on my deck watching the wildlife in my backyard as opposed to sitting at my desk watching the idiots in my office.
For some reasons, text editor would not accept this sentence [original was English] Et plus on vieillit, moins il y a de temps entre « peut-être que je devrais ». . .’ et ‘ou bien.’_
My brain will get me up in the middle of the night for the middle of the night trip one way or another. If I don’t respond the first time, I will get a dream that I am peeing my bed. Of course, I never have, but it will wake me right up and get me out of my bed!
I would call getting up at 6am being a late riser. I just recently started getting up at 5 instead of 4. I’m kind of ashamed of being so lazy, but think it might be healthier to get 5 hours of sleep instead of 4.

It’s his bladder that’s the early riser.

I used to wear a watch to bed, with mechanical movements. The soft ticking was soothing.

There are times in a man’s life – mostly between midnight and six – when Nature’s ‘suggestions’ become demands if not promptly obeyed.

Going to the restroom is the best reason for getting out of bed in the morning. It HAS to be done.

I know it has nothing to do with the punch line, but I’m surprised Rosco doesn’t wake them up to go potty by 6 a.m.
