I knew 2 day traders. One was doing well, bought a new house in Arizona city and 2 new cadys. Developed a program to automatic work for him, came to JB’s one day and by the time he got home he was broke and was a greeter at Kmart. #2 retired and was doing so well he retired and was giving classes…he shortly went back to work.
I know this was original posted decades ago, but weird timing for this one. tomorrow july 4 is a holiday and today- july 3rd the market closes early at 1 pm (I work in mutual funds)
Ah, 1999… the source of role models for the crypto bros… i wrote a system to watch the day traders and ride along. it was ready about the time they all went back to their day jobs…
Yah. Got VERY lucky, got out and invested in the “regular” way with a fiduciary and such and making it work. Like gambling in a casino, you have to know your limits, be willing to lose the whole bet and know when to quit. You have to do your research and make good judgements of which company to bet on and when to go in and when to pull out. Too many let greed take over and even though they hit their targets they all of a sudden want more and before you know they have lost it all. Make enough so you are always playing with the house’s money.

It’s believed that day trading led to development of Uber.

I’d prefer the classic day-trading climax to the movie TRADING PLACES.

I got nothing. Day trading is just another way for people with money to try and make more money without losing it until it’s all gone.

I know several people who gambled away their inheritances by day trading. Some day there will laws to protect “outsider trading”. :(
