That’s our baby! He’s just the sweetest kitten ever.
We were running errands on Saturday and parked at one end of the mall. Brad went to bring the truck to the other end for me and I had to go through Penneys to get out. The door was by the jewelry dept. As I was hurrying along, I glanced at the bracelets. BIG mistake. I saw a nice ruby and diamond (both lab grown) one on sale. I had it in my hand a minute later. Like LROS said when I showed her the picture, that lady has never made a sale so fast. I was almost to the door when I saw Brad pull up. I hopped in with the present he didn’t know he got me until I showed it to him.
Last night, I was in here and the printer started. I looked at the papers and it was for a couple of AZ Diamondback shirts I apparently ordered for him but didn’t know about until he told me. We both got prezzies we wanted – no returns to be done.
When the family gathered at my Mom’s beach house, I was in charge of bedtime stories for my niece and nephew. In the morning, they’d tell me the story they wanted with special things in it, and I’d have the exact story for them at bedtime. The joy of having an aunt who was a professional writer.
I just love Oliver’s spelling! Interesting day at our historic fish hatchery yesterday. There was a large gopher snake (related to bull snakes) that had been roaming around inside for at least 3 days. We were very busy and for the first hour I informed everyone who came in to let me know if they saw it, but during a lull I found it stretched out along a back wall and picked it up. Well, Mr Cranky immediately managed to bite me twice – once on the check! NO HARM DONE. They are non venomous, and often bluff strike without actually biting, but this one was getting ready to shed (dull skin) and they are uncomfortable as the outer skin is tight and normally I would not handle one then but it needed to be outside. I live about a mile away so drove home with it mostly wrapped around one hand as it continued to hiss at me, and released it in my yard. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I find them fascinating.
Sounds like a great story. It might be even better if some penguins and monkeys were added, but hey, you don’t mess with perfection, am I right? On another note, saw three butterflies, three robins, a sparrow, a Western tanager, and four juncos while out walking today.

I had a salad with left over veggies and threw in some shrimp for supper. I have a bunch of shrimp tails – should I give them to little Oliver?
