Since both The Argyle Sweater and this cartoon are Pooh-Bear themed, I wondered if this is a coincidence, or if today is some Pooh-related anniversary. No, A.A. Milne was born in January and died in January. Christopher Milne was born in August, but on the 21st, not the 13th; and he died in April.

In the horsey world a red ribbon tied into a horse’s tale is a warming to stand clear because that horse is known to kick.

One of my childhood favorites was when Disneyland still had the mule ride “through the Grand Canyon”
They even used the famous gag from the actual Grand Canyon trek:
“We have mules for everyone;
Tall mules for tall people,
Short mules for short people,
Fat mules for fat people,
Skiny mules for skinny people,
And for those of you who never rode a mule,
We have mules that have never been ridden."
