Good for them, but it’s sad that the suggestion in the second panel would ever even be considered. (Or, for that matter, that people would buy a dog from someone who profits from adding to the dog “supply” when the supply so far exceeds the demand that millions of “surplus” dogs are put to death every year.) People can truly be reprehensible.
This is our tale. We adopted our mixed breed puppy (3/4 Malinois, 1/4 Staffie) expecting a mid-sized dog. Little did we know. At 6 months he is the size of a small adult Malinois but more muscled and weighs already a hefty 60 pounds. We are buying a bigger car this weekend.
We got a Dachshund from a breeder. he was the runt of the litter. He grew into a 45-poung Grosse-Dachshund, apparently a throwback to his great-grandsire. Same proportions, great hunter, but he thought he was still lap-sized! RIP Shatzie!

For some dog breeders, “medium size” is somewhere between Marmaduke and Clifford.

Your dog senses the presence of departed spirits. He’s a dog medium.

A couple neighbours have Irish Wolfhounds. Fortunately they are both friendly; and they don’t jump up on you, because they don’t have to.

A bigger car and a wheeled cart for when he’s old and you can’t carry him to the vet.

Medium is a relative term. But his size means there is more of Max to love to return that love.
