What? A houseboat for Adam with cold drinks but no coffee pot simmering?

Sounds like us. Terrible people who make friends based on what they have that we want! Ought to go check in on Clayton’s yachting couple. Chances are they’ve killed each other by now and that boat’s up for grabs.

I prefer to call it Bean Bag Toss. Cornhole makes me think of a Bible story.

I’ve never aspired to waterside living. I understand the allure of a free pool and adjacent fishing, but the smell and the bugs aren’t worth it for me. More for them I suppose.

No thanks. There’d be the inevitable discussion of conservative values and their justification for being somewhere on the Pro-Trump – trickle down – charter school – climate change – Woke – sliding scale.

I think that should read “Maybe we SHOULD look into making friends…”

A well-known author like Laura should be getting plenty of invites.

A house on the lake would make a Newman out of Adam.

Definitely better to make friends with people who own a boat and/or a lake house – or a mountain cabin.

I wouldn’t want to live too close to the water after the video I saw recently on the rapid erosion of a riverside home from a glacier run-off. It started with the bank, then several conifers fell and last a beautiful big house went crashing in. No thanks!

I talked to a longtime sailor. He told me the real trick is to have a friend with a boat.

I can kind of relate to this…. the camp my parents bought, in the early 70’s was for about $8,000, but it sat above the water, with a terrific view of the bay (the walk to the water was about 3 minutes). He sold it in the early 80’s for about $60,000, and recently, I stopped by there, and it was again, replaced with something new… this time, the selling price was about $1.6 million. NO residents of this state will own lakefront property, again, unless it’s been in the family, or they are filthy rich. Of course, even if they do have it, most likely, they will be taxed out of it, in no time.
