Whatever kind of meat (or “meat”) they’re made of, if they’re organic, charring them can still produce carcinogenic heterocyclic aromatic amines (from proteins) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (from fats).

Here at the Froglandia Bath Mat Factory, we are always busy, and have to save time where ever we may. Our Pro Kitchen Staff has developed this new treat, the Doily Dog. It’s the same delicious meat paste that you find extruded into a wiener, but flattened into a lovely patterned tortilla shape. Our Doily Dog Cooker takes these flattened paste patties, and rolls them into tube steaks, while also heating them to the perfect temperature for your enjoyment! Try one! You will find that the most annoying parts of the hot dog experience, that it slides around in the bun and doesn’t hold condiments, are entirely absent. The Doily Dog has 40% more width, with the same length of an ordinary tube dog, with the same mass. That means that it has open mesh construction that holds condiments, and a knurled surface that grips the bun and holds it tight. We don’t like to say that we have perfected anything, because we are always working to improve on what exists. But really, we have perfected the tube steak with the Doily Dog.

Well, doilies like to absorb oils, but I’m not sure about dogs. I’m pretty sure they produce oils, though. So directionally that’s a miss. How many dogs are decorative? If you’re in the correct party the answer is “all of them,” so, that’s not a reliable guide either. I do like that ‘dogs’ and ‘doilies’ alliterate, but that seems flimsy and a bit arbitrary. I have consumed — and enjoyed — grilled dogs in the past, although bratwurst is more my thing. A grilled doily? Can’t say I’ve ever had the pleasure, in spite of the apparently delicious, and perfect, product cited by Brass above. (Sigh.) The research will go on.

I’m in the passenger seat of a Ford F-250 somewhere in Wyoming on my way from whitewater territory in Idaho, headed back to Arkansas.

If you’re keeping score at home, I’m neither beloved nor a Super Lawyer in Idaho or Wyoming.

We didn’t have any hoity toity hipster doglike grilled doilies growing up. We had to make our own doilies by biting holes and shapes into our baloney, like Dog intended.

I never thought of grilled doilies as being doglike before, but I can see how someone could get that impression.

Yes, that triplet is worth a scribble or two!

The conjectures made above by esteemed Froglandians that the “doglike” grilled doilies are in fact hot dog-like bun fillers are clever, but there is nothing in Sister’s art to validate them beyond the germ of an idea. Ideas are truly wonderful things, though, so—surprise! (?)—I’ll endorse those creative interpretations!

Thus, there is a sensible reading of this runcible rollick, no lame fooling!
