When you change from an oversized t-shirt to an oversized ‘Hawaiian’ shirt, everyone recognizes you’ve made an effort. But let’s not get too uppity.

If it was really really bad, she would have said something that would indicate that she would not want to be seen with you, Dad.

Or that she would not want people to know that you were her dad.

I vote “Relieved” … as long as they don’t laugh about what I wear.

Darryl, just for Zoe, go full on summer Dad clothes. Striped shirt, plaid Bermuda shorts, black knee-high socks and sandals. That will illicit a change in attitude like you have never seen before.
