Beatrix’s response is understandable. I think if I opened a door and saw a racoon dressed in old National Geographic magazines, my startle reflex would kick into high gear, too!
Life imitates art… my eight month old kitten (Dilly, the Pickle Princess) came nose to snoot with a raccoon kitten through the back French door tonight! The biggest batch of raccoon kits are getting old enough to rough and tumble all over the backyard and explore everything, and this one was trying to peer in the back door. The house baby and the wilderness baby were fascinated by each other!
Ah, an encounter between Beatrix and the princess. Intriguing! Our Marigold is an investigative reporter, so I am afraid she will investigate, and probably Baba too to find out who’s slamming her door.
I do like the shifting perspectives of the story. How we’re getting both Mags quest to figure out just what her people do now and how they get their home back eventually, and the cats .I just assumed given how these stories go we woudln’t see any shenanigans with princess magazine and i’m glad i was wrong.
Obadiah Opossum: I’d like to use this piece of space-time fabric as a night sky, and use Fe-Anaro’s gems as stars. Then make planets with oPearls and oPals.
Maat-Tilda: That would be lovely. I always like to see a beautiful night sky.
Adobe Style: There is a legendary sky artist whose work has been lost in futurity.
Sophititi: I would like to make a sculpture using found objects from the newly found pyramid.
Obie: We’re organizing another trip to the oPyramid, would you like to come along?
Soph: I’m not really one for exploring, but maybe I could have a look-see.
Adobe: It’s not that far. Only a potato’s throw away.
A couple of panels from now, I’m imagining Beatrix twirling around in a magazine dress while Princess Magazine checks herself out wearing a Peter Pan collar shirt and cardigan. The mask can be handed back and forth.
When I was small, and we moved into our new house, our yard backed up to the original farm that the subdivision land had come from. The farmer kept his farmhouse, about a dozen acres, the old barn, horse barn, and paddock. Anyway, one of the first times I came downstairs early in the morning to the kitchen, I found a horse looking in our kitchen window.
His name was Little John, and he had a habit of getting out of the paddock and wandering around the old farm. Now, of course, there were houses around, so he thought, might as well look in windows. It was the first time I had seen a horse up close. Dad gave my brother and me apples to feed Little John before the farmer came down and retrieved him.
Seventeen years later, Little John passed away and was buried in the pasture of the farm. Eventually, the farmer passed away, the remaining land was sold, and new houses were built. I look out the back window of the house I now own into the backyard of one of the new neighbors. Knowing if they dig in a certain area, they will find a large horse skeleton.
Sure someone already mentioned, but methinks Beatrix and Princess Magazine may become fast (if perhaps a little begrudging) friends soon! (Much like Baba and Mag !!) … :)
Looks like the beginning of the oPosse Comitatus for Mission Whack-a-Mole. Will the girls find a really cool new oplace that the moles could dig, or just get themselves into an opassle of trouble? Probably both…
Decibel is transitioning to gooshy chicken cat food. She seems to have declared it almost acceptable. She’s also learned what it means when the microwave dings and she runs to Jora’s room with the other cats to share Jora’s chicken. There have been a few hisses and growls and a couple of swats just to establish order. They’re working it out.
I donated my 99th unit of blood today and am wiped out. Back to bed I go.

So much Barn stuff. Imagine the amount of commotion all those kits could cause.

Beatrox is complaining about a commotion in the barn and then her reaction to a slamming door is ‘just barn stuff’. What is going on here?
