Some lie by implication. Some just keep telling bald-faced lies.

Politics is the art of making the truth tell lies in your favor. Unfortunately some have now given up on the truth part entirely.

Politicians are salespeople!

It doesn’t matter who you vote for, politicians will always get in. (I’m sure I’ve used this gag before. But, what the heck.)

ie: How do you know when a politician isn’t lying. He isn’t speaking.

Or he is dead. but then again he is lying 6 feet under.

As close to a universal truth as it’s possible to reach. Of course, there are other categories of ‘expedient’ truths, but this one has the longest life and the worst results.

Why limit it to just politicians? I would put virtually every corporate exec in the same category.

Politicians, and politically-obsessed people from all sides.

One bright spot in our lives is that the best campaign manager in history committed suicide in the bunker with Hitler in 1945: Joseph Goebbels. If I were in marketing, I’d study this man.

“stretch the truth”… I think there are some out there that have stretched it so far that it broke…

If they only stretched the truth it wouldn’t be too bad. But they destroy the truth.

Most of the republicans even Lie in there dreams or dream about the size of the checks they hope too receive from the NRA and the gun Manufacturers, while Democrats are busy helping people all over the world, have a better life.

Not every crook is a politician, but every politician is a crook

All politicians lie. The good ones do it successfully.

The only time you can be sure a politician is telling the truth is when he calls another politician a liar.

How can you tell if a politician is lying?

If sound asleep means not making a sound, then when politicians aren’t soundly doing that, does it mean that they are arguing loudly in their sleep?

And some just repeat what they are told to say.

Not all politicians are liars.

POTUS 45, the pro of pros.

Also sad is the first time your child lies to you, and you confront them about it. They actually start very young and will generally try to convince you that their lie is truth. It’s the loss of innocence to me.

That’s a stretch!

Some have moved on from stretching the truth to outright lying with unfettered audacity. And some are willing to go where no man has gone before by co-opting their entire party to promote and sustain their mendacity.

Sleep is when they dream up new lies.

And the perfect example is Joe “sleepy” Biden

How can you tell a politician is lying? His/her mouth is moving.

Many of Trump’s followers no longer see other Americans as legitimate opposition, but rather as the enemy. This is strategic. This is not a mistake. Somebody is profiting from this — politically, ideologically or financially — And it’s Trump. This tactic is known as affective polarization and that phenomenon has led to increased violence and political destabilization in other nations. Just this month, FBI agents fatally shot an armed Utah man who had threatened to kill President Biden and referred to himself online as a “MAGA Trumper.” It’s not just that the other side is wrong, it’s that the other side is evil, and they deserve to be punished, maybe even physically harmed. It is no longer about facts, but about trust. It’s about teams, and which side you’re on. Even if his gamble doesn’t pay off for him in 2024, Trump’s lies and distortions have left an indelible stain on the nation’s political system by increasing polarization and convincing a sizeable chunk of the American public that its elections and justice system can no longer be trusted. The scary thing is, those pushing these lies don’t need to get you to believe the loser won. They just need to get you to believe that no one ever wins. All of our democratic institutions that we’ve built up over 250 years are at risk, and if we don’t wake up and vote these people out of office we, and the rest of the world, will not recognize this country in five years.
