    You cannot teach a gift. Some people are naturals and some are not. Adam needs to find his forte’. Writing is not it. How about coffee taster at some manufacturer? Nobody is better at that.

    Laura is a successful novelist. Adam is a successful writer. The two have different skills essential to their crafts. Another difference is that as someone who works on assignment, Adam gets paid regularly. Even successful novelists have to wait for sales to exceed any advance. Most novelists don’t get advances and seldom make much money at all.
