I found one of my old phone books not too long ago, a nice trip down memory lane. The addresses and phone numbers for my grandparents (now long dead), the addresses and phone numbers for my siblings and friends as we’ve moved through life. Went to college, first (and sometimes, second, third, fourth, etc) jobs and cities, marriages, etc.
So Brutus is a fan of Werewolves of London. I loved that song, but I was the only one among my friends who did. I also like Kid Rock’s All Summer Long which uses the same music.
One year for her birthday I made my wife a Friday Night Cookbook (she has always refused to cook on Friday). It’s a leather binder for takeout menus and coupons, with a group of strikers depicted on the cover.

A phone book is always useful. And its memory don’t run out.

I saw werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fooks
For to get a big dish of beef chow mein
Ah-hoo, werewolves of LondonAh-hooAh-hoo, werewolves of LondonAh-hoo
You hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Ah-hoo, werewolves of LondonAh-hooAh-hoo, werewolves of LondonAh-hoo, huh
He′s the hairy handed gent who ran amok in Kent
Lately he’s been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him, he′ll rip your lungs out Jim
Huh, I’d like to meet his tailor

His hair was perfect

It’s more of a fast food yellow pages than a cook book. Cook books have recipes for pot roasts, pork roasts and cakes & suff.

It’s not an emergency Gladys when you use it every day. No wonder Brutus has to work so hard to make ends meet.

Wonderful homage to the great Warren Zevon! And do I notice tears of pride welling up in Mama Gargoyle’s eyes?

Oh, how I wish there were a Lee Ho Fooks nearby…

As are the numbers on her phone. Even she likes to have good food, instead of home cooked.

Mama’s face shows pride in the fact that she taught her daughter well regarding dinner arrangements.

Whoa Chip, you’re gonna really have to explain this one. (Open MRI, NOT OPEN, 3 major constraints, elicited claustorphobia, I couldn’t do it)…

Lee Ho Fook’s would have been funnier if it was Ho Lee Fook’s. Holy Fook!
