Efficiency in banking IS a tough subject. Even if you approach it fiscally, you can either provide live tellers for your customers or go to machine only. Each side has its high and low points.
When I was young and couldn’t sleep my father would let me sit with him and watch “McHale’s Navy”. It didn’t help me fall back to sleep, Tim Conway was too funny.
There are times when I need to talk to a human, preferably one who is fully engaged with the matter at hand and not texting, using What’sThat, Instatubing, ClickClacking or whatever social media apps are out there.
That’s about how I felt listening to a lecture about the Money Multiplier in one of my many required core business courses after already having had it covered in six of my separate previous required core business courses. The unnecessary “repeats” that serve as a way to milk extra money out of students and keep superfluous professors employed are unbelievable. And don’t even get me started on the “liberal arts” (code for: college-level courses that should have been learned prior to graduating from high school).

She’s not exactly cut out for the life of an accountant, and maybe that’s not a bad thing.

I used to type a lot in the night on a manual typewriter. I don’t know how my wife slept through it but she enjoyed the plays. :)
