Now change the last frame lower panel to someone wearing a rainbow colored t-shirt that says “THEY” and stating “…if we only just change the weather everything will be ok”.
I risk trouble when I say this, but my opinion of the January 6 protesters/rioters would probably be very different if they were fighting for one of MY causes.
Anyone who thinks that both sides (aka the left and the right) are the same is a stupid a-hole. At worst, the “left” can be annoying and ineffectual at inspiring collective action. At worst, the right are nazis who want to liquefy the homeless until the planet is destroyed.
I’m a leading edge boomer, unreconstructed new lefty and hippie. I was also a history major so I’m cynical about revolutions. Even so I can’t help thinking that we’d be better off if we offed some people. I know I’m wrong but it’s emotionally attractive.
Trump said he could shoot a man on 5th Avenue and not lose voters. He had to settle for getting a woman shot in the Capitol, and his voters were like, “eh, close enough, we’re still with ya!”
Silly commenter above, didn’t you know your attempts at symmetrizing political humor aren’t appreciated here? 17 browbeating replies informing you of this basic fact, and counting.
I will say this much: TTDB took a steep turn towards mediocrity when Mr. Bolling, around the time of Trump’s election, decided to join various other artists and publications (looking at you, New Yorker) in producing repetitive agitprop rather than the previous absurdist humor.
Take home message for the disinterested reader: partisanship and originality rarely coincide. And now, flame away, fellow oafs.
Ah me, I was just listening to Quicksilver, “What About Me” and Chambers Bros, “Love, Peace & Happiness”. But who would go back to those days and live thru all the horror since?
Because the 60’s left didn’t rob banks, kidnap people, plant bombs and call for violent revolution. Nor did the Age of Aquarius have any weird conspiracy theories, right?
The idea that the modern conservative is uniquely taken by conspiracies is a dangerous illusion. That guy in 1973 is probably a member of the John Birch Society. In ten years he’ll be flying a POW-MIA flag and trying to root out Satanists in daycares.

So I see that Mr. Bolling still believes something that was based on a dossier created by the Clinton Campaign.
Also, if Republicans used violence, show me and so that I can condemn it. Until then, I point you to modern Democrats that burn down cities.
Also also, we are fighting Anti-Whitism, not White power. Nice try.
