It’s kind of terrifying how much better they have it than most of the world. They own a house, they never go hungry, they have decent jobs, savings, enough money to refurnish the house once in a while, and both leisure and money for European vacations.
I recently got an email that stated that my paypal account was charged over $500…and the “sent to” was full of possible names that was close to my email name. I of course reported it. Then I got a text message from “Walmart” about my new phone was on it’s way, the one I didn’t order…both had things for you to click on to check “my purchase”…which I didn’t do. Phishing, scamming, etc. Be aware!
I don’t worry much about security on my personal equipment, Linux computer KiaOS phone. Data breaches happen at large companies, because that’s where the money is.
They can’t get blood from a stone, or my bank account, or create a credit line in my name but they can use my information to scam my friend’s and other people. I wonder how many fake accounts have been created using my picture or information, if any.
interesting timing, just got a letter from honeywell saying my info was among info in a breach accessed by unauthorized third party – grrrrrrrrrrrr already have been victim of identity theft twice
