Some punishment, Kate. He already does nothing that really needs doing.

For kids, that is a punishment. It’s when we become adults that we learn to value “down time”.

Should be a cinch since he doesn’t do anything anyway.

My friend’s daughter called her, steaming: the woman’s a forty-something lawyer heading for a partnership. Ther’s an intern at the firm, and the other afternoon, the woman asked her to complete some task before she went home. The intern (female) replied, “It’s been a terribly draining day, and I simply won’t do any more. I have to go home and life.” Haven’t heard whether the intern is on permanent “lifing” or not. . .

Tell him to assume the position – standing, facing a wall with nose touching, hands behind his back, feet 12” apart – for 3 minutes. They behave after that. Does not require scolding, yelling, threatening or spanking. And when they start to act up again, just point to the wall and quietly say, you’re choice, act proper or assume the position…

We had a special chair for the boys to sit in and “think about what you’ve done.” One time my mother-in-law visited, and my son said, “Oo- Ooo! You’re sitting in the PUNISHMENT CHAIR!”

Should have been more specific, no electronics for 10 minutes.
