Toys, video games, Pokemon cards. Money in disguises or just collectibles?

Furbys always reminds me of the story “I always does what Teddy says” about a demonic teddy bear.

Being out of the box is strike number one. Something that’s damaged would clearly be worthless. But Furbies were pretty common so even one mint in the box would probably only be worth 30 or 40 bucks.

This arc is just starting. The Furbies are not worthless, especially to a younger person. BTW, I still have mine. LOL Even still have my Tamagoche. (sic)

The value of a thing is what that thing will bring.

Rarity, rarity, rarity. That’s why condition is so important. Old stuff is common. Old stuff that looks new isn’t.

Original packaging is key. Just ask my 2000 hot wheels collection.

Jen will be so sorry when Dean becomes rich and famous, and everyone will be dying to get a personal memento from him.

You might be able to sell them to a gun range.

Interesting. While I was in the comics/games shop this weekend, somebody was selling some Pokeball collectibles. The boxes were battered and so were the toys. And the collector prices for perfection were nothing major anyway. It seems the collector market is overloaded with stuff that everybody collected to make money on.

In the first frame, the speech balloon indicates that Jen is the one in blue and the one in green is asking Jen about the value. However, the one in blue appears to hand over the Furby to the one in green, who provides the answer. Confusing.
