Twelve bucks! There’s no way I’d pay more for a baseball glove than I would for a haircut.

That’s more than $110 in today’s mock currency.

The usual currency around here is clams, and they use actual clams. I wonder if Grog shelled out 12 male deer for that glove.

Actually, “shelled out” goes better with clams, anyway.
