Cat baths should be done in private.

Thank you everyone for wishing me happy birthday yesterday. I even got a “choir” at work sang it to me at lunch! That was funny!

Poor Cocoa was sounding like a broken coffee maker when she purred yesterday and hardly eating. Sonce she has a habit of finding inedible objects to ingest we were afraid she’d gotten something stuck. I had to work so my dad took her in that afternoon to the vet, she’s caught an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some shots and she definitely has more engery today, but still hacks pathetically on and off. We also have to keep her away from Truffle so she won’t catch, they’ve become fast friends so I don’t know how well we’ll do that fingers crossed

If my cat weren’t bathing, I’d be investigating why…usually it’s a sign of no good…

My little hooligans got spayed yesterday. They came back raring to go and played like maniacs – for about 30 minutes then crashed. Normally they would be going to PetCo for adoption today but there have been some shelter issues.1. They are short staffed so its been closed A LOT.2. The shelter has been refusing to take in cats unless it’s by appointment. Think about that. How do you make an appointment for a stray cat you just found?3. A woman called last week and told them she was going to deliver a stray. She was was told NO. They argued. She informed them she WAS going to take it and there best be someone there to take care of her. More words. She informed them that the city council would be her next call.4. Then, two days later, Susan stopped by for something and found SEVEN cats in there. Due to different circumstances, most could go to PetCo this weekend. So, she asked if I could keep mine for this week so she could take those and the tabbies that I used to have that another foster had taken.

My little babies are no trouble so I said yes. We don’t know if the woman ever made that city council call. She’s a friend of Susan but she didn’t ask. I sure would have.

According to Victorian aesthetics, the sublime in more beautiful because it includes an element of death. So, spring tree leaves are beautiful, but fall leaves are sublime because they will soon be dead. A long explanation for why Chesney should watch his tongue.

Good comeback, Annie. A more accurate definition of Chesnaphobia would be "fear of obnoxious jerks with big egos. On another note, saw a robin, two dragonflies, and a junco while out walking today.
