Yeah, but look at the date and go back to the Superbowl. It was a pretty good game. You shoulda heard Seattle after Superbowl 48 (f*** Roman Numerals.)

Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where Puddy paints his face like Satan in support of the NY Devils hockey team. In his own words: “Gotta support the team”.

I always felt the same way! That sense of personal “ownership” fans have is the greatest marketing scam ever pulled off in the history of consumer products!! :D

A long time ago in the Boston area two guys on unemployment were wasting an afternoon reading comics books and watching samurai and kaiju movies. One was a decent artist and with those sources drew a turtle as a ninja. His friend, who was reading an X-Men comic at the time suggested, “Make it a mutant ninja turtle, a teenage mutant ninja turtle.” The artist took some time and did so. I wonder what became of those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unemployment can lead to better things. BTW, Superman wears Tom Brady pajamas.

It seems illogical that I consider the 49ers ‘my’ team, but I certainly feel better when they win than I did when they had the three-game losing stretch. I think it goes back to our caveman days when it was very important to be part of a tribe. Also, we’re indoctrinated at an early age to root for our home team. The smaller the town the more rabid the fans are.

Living vicariously through your favorite team. Must be nice – being a Jets and Mets fan, I wouldn’t know.

Something tells me that the DNA marking for “interest in spectator sports” is missing from Mr Peterson’s genome. That’s possible. Speaking from personal experience, either I nor my brother—or our father, come to think of it—would ever dream of referring to any professional athletic team as “we”. Collegiate teams would have a better chance, but at top-notch universities, sports are simply a dull-normal distraction.
