Thank God we have a stable government to keep us safe. Can you imagine what could happen if our government was compromise because someone was blocking promotion, or we didn’t have party leaders working on needed bills?

Can’t like this one. I’m with her. Once again, it appears ancient hatreds been fanned into conflict in a section of the world where periods of peaceful coexistence are rare. And, as always, no matter their origins, innocents will suffer. Deeply regrettable.

Once trust/respect/honesty/humility/curiousity are gone, what is left that gives us hope for a peaceful/prosperous future?

No one sems to care that 1,000s more (mainly civilians) are being killed in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Congo…

War and sh*t happens

This will end badly for everyone involved: Hamas, Israeli Military and civilians on both sides.

Nobody wins a war. One side merely manages to lose it to a lesser extent.

Gaza will be particularly ugly. It is a military rerun of Stalingrad – where Germans and Russians fought for, lost men for, the next rubble heap or room in the shell of a house; where they engaged in warfare in the tunnels and in the sewers in what they called “Ratten Krieg” or “rat war.” This is the state into which the conflict will devolve.

Pray for peace, because at this time, only God knows how this will end.

Looking at the destruction.. it’s hard not to blame Netanyahu, his policies created Hamas and now his revenge is turning the world against Israel. Puts America in a difficult position.. lose the support of the Jewish vote or do the right thing and denounce this wanton slaughter.

There’s plenty of blame to go around in the Middle East, dating back to the dawn of history. The Muslim nations had a point when they said that if the Christians were feeling so guilty over the holocaust that they had to give the Jews their own country, they could have given them Christian land.

But, the US is not involved in this mess because we are protecting Israel out of the goodness of our hearts. If the Muslim nations weren’t our enemies before 9/11, they sure put any doubt about that out of our minds on that day. No matter who they are fighting, the enemy of our enemy is our friend.

Politicians start wars and expect soldiers to finish them.

“Conflict” is such a nice word to describe organized violence against each other.

I’ve cried a River of tears through out my life from WWII and beyond! ☹️☹️☹️☹️
