Our Barney Basset had such thick nails. One time, my husband pinched. After that, he yelped at every clip, every toe, even though he didn’t fight it. We figured out that he was yelping at the sound, so started saying his name loudly each time. No more yelping. Crazy dog.

My dog, as most we have had, hate their nails clipped! So Buckles is in good company!

I always did all of our dogs nails, until the rescue came. It took me a year before I could even touch his feet, let alone do his nails.

Fast forward five years and he still won’t let me touch them but finally will let the vet tech do it. So, every two weeks we go and have our nails clipped and have a little visit at the vet. Great for socializing, too.

We still do the other dogs nails and whiskers ourselves, but Foster Dog (AKA Miami Street Meat) gets his professional mani pedi every two weeks lol!

Mine will not let me clip her nails. She’d rather bite them off.

Buckles is a wee darling. My fur won’t let me clip her nails. Our lovely vet Trish does the honours.

My current 2 dogs chew their nails, so I don’t have to do it.

We did that yesterday with the cats. Same reactions, and same reason why.

Well, Buckles, now you know why it’s important to get your nails clipped periodically, I should know since I clip my toenails once in a while.

I clip both of my cats nails. Neither one of them puts up a fuss.

My daughter always wraps her cats up in a blanket and holds them close. They must really trust her because they don’t give her much trouble. She’s done it for years with several different cats.

My dog and I walk on concrete every day for miles. It keeps almost all of her nails worn down, but those dew claws don’t get worn down. I only need to do 2 nails. She’s very good about it – I am a chicken and don’t like to do it.
