Hardwood floors with a sliver in them. Ouch! Those guys who just redid the Patterson house a little while back, must have left a part of the floor unfinished.

I remember trying to ride our dog when I was April’s age. Never got very far.

John is getting slivers off their wood floor. Aypo plays down there. Will they see the danger to her? Either refinish those floors or get an area rug.

At least she wasn’t putting the spurs to him to make him buck higher!

I baby sat for the seven kids next door when I was a teen and when I got home I looked at my knees and that is what happened!! LOL

Where is the poster who always says John never does anything with the kids?

He’s lucky. When a real cowboy’s horse hurt one of its legs, they’d shoot it.

John is not a horse. He will not get shot if he has a broken bone; just needs to wait five months for OHIP.

I’ve never been able to figure out how my cat scratches on a telephone pole without getting splinters.

There’s a geographical divide here. Some people grew up saying “sliver,” and some said “splinter.” I used to notice that “sliver” appeared in “Peanuts,” and figured it was because Sparky came from the far north. Is this a sort-of Canadianism? I’m from lo-Cal (Southern California) and it was “splinter” all the way.

I thought maybe he found that dime I lost last week.

As funny as that could’ve been it was not good timing. Puns like that don’t work when the audience is in pain.

Elly has the amazing ability to pluck out a sliver while her bangs have completely covered her eyes. There was also a strip where she drove John’s sports car with her eyes closed, although that resulted in a fender bender.

One of the best times, both for the kid and the parents.
