More and more restaurants are doing this. I hate it. Usually, though, if you ask for a real menu, you’ll get one. After all, a lot of older folks may not even have a smart phone. And some people (like me), have trouble viewing things on their phone.
Haven’t seen or been to a place like that, and hopefully never will! (my cellphone is so old I couldn’t download a code reader even if I wanted to…and yes, I actually use my phone as a…phone!)
an italian place that we visit occasionally tried that ploy. most of the customers were like us, they realized that they were supposed to use the qr code after calling the waitress over and placing their order…

I’ve been to a place like that, and it’s not for me either.

I do that a lot when I see a table on the sidewalk. More often than not, I get a 404. Sometimes a 500. And the dirty looks from the patrons…

Smart phones are just a passing fad. I don’t think that they will catch on.

I have never scanned a QR code. Someday I might but somehow I doubt it. My smart phone thinks it is just a regular phone to talk on.

Okay then, buy me a smart phone AND pay for the app I need to scan with, and then maybe I’ll eat in your stupid restaurant.

Give me a menu. My old eyes can’t read that itty bitty text on the screen, okay?

Me either. I don’t know why businesses think this type of stuff is so great for everyone. It’s not always easy for some people.
