When I had a garage built (to keep my car out of our frequent hail storms) I found that my city taxes went up by $10/month. That is $120 per year FOREVER for the privilege of having a garage, more if you take in the always increasing tax rate, ours went up 20% last year.
This is close to the truth. I put my Input my chicken house on a large pallet so the assessors couldn’t tax it. Same goes for garden equipment sheds here.
