At least they didn’t eat it before you got there, CB, and then tell you about how good it was.

Good Grief!

I’ve had birthdays without cakes before.

When my husband & I were dating, the first birthdays we celebrated together, we worked at the same place (where my father was foreman). We would sit out in his car to eat lunch. On his birthday, since it’s hard to hide a cake (or even a cupcake), I put a candle in a Pop-Tart. He loved that.

Well at least you got a plate CB.

I bought my own birthday cake this year.

I’d have thought Charlie Brown’s birthday would be October 2 (when the first strip debuted in 1950) or November 26 (Schulz’s birthday).

I thought they were going to say they ate the cake.

In short, a quasi-elaborate Have a nice day.

I no longer commemorate the anniversary of my natal event with a cake and presents. I’d just as soon have a slice of pie and the company my wife and friends for a dinner out some place.

Who would have thought that Chuck would see 50 more birthdays?

This year’s birthday cake was really small. It didn’t hold a candle to last year’s.

well, it’s the thought that counts

Every Peanuts I see that has characters with their hands in their pockets reminds me of one where Linus shows Charlie Brown a picture of a man he drew. CB says “Very nice…I see you’ve drawn him with his hands in his pockets. That means you yourself have deep feelings of insecurity”. And Linus shoots back, “No, it’s because I myself can’t draw hands”. I always wonder if that was one of Schulz’s weak areas.

Schulz was very funny in his early days, RIP…
