I never thought I’d see the day when hospital food got five stars.

My last hospital stay, the first two days I got luck of the draw, including food I do not normally eat. Finally got the form to choose what I wanted for the next day, and it was a good selection. But I left the hospital the night before… So I understand Vince all too well…

When I was in the hospital, the food was inedible to me. My roommate was lucky, her family brought her dinners to her.

This is definitely not Penn Medicine. Their food is nothing to write home about.

I’m assuming the food at home isn’t good?

The hospital must subcontract to a local restaurant…

I’d have to ask my wife about hospital food, I haven’t eaten in one since 1957 when I got my tonsils out and all I had was some ice cream. She was in for a couple days back in 2010.

Hospitals are famous for not having good food, but I’ve always found it quite satisfactory.

I was in an accident where the docs thought they might need to remove my spleen. For 6 days the only food I had was through the needle in my arm. When they finally decided the spleen was just bruised I could eat again. Fried chicken, mashed taters ‘n gravy, salad… mmmmmm it smelled so good, looked wonderful! I managed to get about four bites in before I could eat no more! For the record, Sun Valley Hospital food was at that time, excellent! Wouldn’t know how it has fared after 45 years.

No home to speak of or at least not a happy one with a warm welcoming family, I’m guessing

When my mother-in-law lived with us her last few months, except for a few hospital stays, she’d pick at her food at home but devour theirs.

Tomorrow is Black Friday, Vince. You’re safer in the hospital.

Marcy and Dana probably take pride in their cuisine.
