Zune is a discontinued brand of digital media products and services that was marketed by Microsoft from November 2006 until June 2012. Zune consisted of a line of portable media players, a music subscription service known as Zune Music Pass plus Zune Marketplace for music, TV and movies, streaming services for the Xbox 360 game console, and the Zune software media player for Windows PCs which also acted as desktop sync software for Windows Phone.
From my understanding Zunes were actually on par with iPods. The problem was everyone had iPods and Zunes’ entire marking campaign was claiming it was better than iPods, but never offered any proof on those claims.
John, Scott, I’m torn on the idea of Throwback Thursdaze. On one hand, I enjoy rereading old strips (especially since I’m a relatively new reader of Working Daze so most all of them are “new” to me.) But then again, it seems like it’s somewhat of a cop-out to get out of creating one new ’toon for the week…

I have a Zune. I’m not sure where it is though. It still worked fine last I checked.

I never had a Zune, but I have a Sony Discman that’s hardly ever been used. There’s also a Walkman somewhere around here, too.

Now they have both gone the way of the DoDo. Zune and iPod.

Zune was the Laserdisc of the music world… both of which worked perfectly wonderful.

My wife had a different, but also defunct media player, Rio Karma. It worked well. It’s probably in a box somewhere.

I’m a C64 man myself. Played some great tunes. Love that 8bit sound!

As I recall, the Zune worked just fine. Problem was, it was just so fershlugginer UGLY. Also, it was called the “Zune” FFS!
