I used to work for a large property management company at a ski resort. Once a year in the summer we had a teachers group come stay a week for assertiveness training. They were the most obnoxious people I’ve ever came in contact with. Managment went around the week before they came warning the employees to not lose their temper. One year, a chef that we had brought in to cook just for this group, pushed one of them into the pool and walked off the job. He said he didn’t have to put up with that kind of treatment.

Okay, I guess, as long as the first syllable of the word is not the predominant result of the training.

Sounds more like meanness training. And there sadly are parents who talk to their children like this.
